Today is a special day.
I’m doing something I’ve never done before—opening the doors to my own wardrobe to show you how to build a wardrobe that works… And even though I’m a little nervous to bare all, I think sharing is a really, really good thing.
Particularly, I want to share what my closet looked like two weeks ago (and how I felt), in comparison to where I’m at now.
My summer wardrobe was in a sad, sad state after purging most of my (well-worn) favourites last fall. To be frank, I felt uninspired to wear any of it.
After doing my own closet inventory, I quickly realized my shopping dollars this season needed to be focused on everyday clothes and a few pairs of summer walking shoes. So I got shopping…
I started my search online. Online shopping is my go-to for everything from books to groceries to clothing & accessories. At one time I was super hesitant to order clothing online (what if it didn’t fit or the fabric was funny or the colour different than I thought?), but I’ve since found websites that are easy to order from, with awesome return policies and minimal (to no) shipping fees, and I’ve never looked back.
So I jumped online and ordered a bunch of awesome pieces from the comfort of my favourite love seat, sipping a glass of red wine, and enjoying the view from my 10th floor window. Once the packages arrived, I tried everything on, kept a lot (as you can see from the picture above) and easily sent the rest back.
Meanwhile, I found a rare hour to myself one afternoon, so I popped into a couple of my favourite neighbourhood boutiques, and got two cheerful pieces to pair with my online buys. I added these to pieces I already owned (mostly accessories) and my everyday wardrobe came together… in about 10 days.
I felt inspired again, so I started putting together outfits like these:
Since all of the pieces I purchased work together, there are dozens more outfit combinations I will wear—I’m actually wearing one today (jeans, striped tank, flower earrings, bracelet, stripe shoes, navy trench coat and the bag).
I will also use these pieces as the base for packing for the cottage and other summer vacations.
Cue Montell Jordan’s classic song, “This Is How We Do It”.
… And we can show you how to build a wardrobe that works, too {only it will be even easier for you!}
We’re offering an awesome *new* Online Personal Shopping service where we scour the internet for perfect-for-you pieces. Once we’ve found these pieces (that all work together) we’ll send them to you in a personal style portfolio—all you have to do is click & buy.

Oh!… And you may be thinking it looks like I spent a fortune, but I didn’t. I got two pairs of shorts, one pair of jeans, five blouses, one t-shirt, two pairs of shoes, a bag, and a trench coat for $576 (+ tax). But your budget could be more or less than that—we’ll shop for you accordingly.
