I’m actually an extremely hesitant online shopper, especially since online shopping in Canada has, until recently, been behind the times. In my opinion, there are 3 features necessary to make online shopping accessible:
1. A free shipping option.
2. Hassle-free returns. (I especially like if I have the option to return in a provided shipping-paid envelope or in-store.)
3. An easy to search site with good picture examples so I can see what a product looks like.
So with this in mind, here are 5 of my go-to online shopping sites in Canada.
The Gap (and Old Navy and Banana Republic). The trifecta! I love that you can shop all of these stores at one time in one cart for Men, Women, Children, and Babies. It’s almost too convenient!
eLUXE. Canada’s version of net-a-porter is growing quickly with more and more exciting pieces to offer (and no duty to worry about).
Indigo. One of the first sites I ever ordered from online and an easy place to start for anyone looking to get their online shopping feet wet.
Club Monaco. They have just made their online shopping experience more user friendly, and although you need to spend over $150 to receive free shipping, they offer shipping promotions often.
Well.ca. I just discovered this website, but it has become an instant fave. Pretty much every household and dry good I need is offered on this site. I love having these often large and cumbersome products delivered. You can receive $10 off your well.ca order with coupon code “wendydeal” until April 13, 2013.
I hope that more independent boutiques in Canada are soon able to offer the conveniences I look for when shopping online, so I can make a list of them too!
